NIC teaming possible on W2K workstations?

If you have teaming NICs and teaming software you can do this. Neither
Windows 2000 Server or Professional include NIC teaming software

I believe it depends on the nic, not the O/S. You can buy "server" nics
that support teaming and just install them in a desktop - I've never done
it, but it should work.
For example, Intel makes an e100 "desktop" nic, but they also make a
"server" nic. The desktop nic doesn't allow teaming, the server one does.

I have teamed many server nics in servers, and as long as they support
teaming and you have the teaming software, you're good to go.

It depends on the NICs and the availability of drivers.

Usually the answer is "yes."
