NIC hassle

Hard drive on my backup machine died. Replaced it and after
installing Win98 like before the NIC won't install with or without the
drivers disk. Also have Linux installed in the same box but on
another drive. With Linux the NIC works perfectly.

Got a feeling I missed a step somewhere.

Remembering why I dislike older Windows.

does the driver disk have an executable? or is it just a folder with the driver files only? What brand of NIC?

Thanks for the help but it appears I've got a gremlin somewhere.
After futzing with the thing all day I put the original hard drive
back in. Now it is working. Still can't figure out why the NIC
wouldn't install on the other drives though. (tried three)

Hopefully I won't need to be concerned with that for awhile.
