NHS (UK) N3 Connxn Can't see nww sites

Hi I have a couple of machines that when I try to access an nww page, gets
the site couldn't be found message from the browser - which is IE7 & this
also happens in the latest version of Firefox. Anyone got any ideas? It's
not DNS. Has to be something local to the PC because the same user profile
on a different machine has no problems.
Many thanks

Hi
Check the computers capacity to connect to the Router's menus to make sure
that you have a vaild Network connection.
To check each computer Network capacity you can use this page,

Thanks Jack - normal web browsing not an issue (although I did check things
out via your post just in case I'd missed the blindingly obvious).
These nww urls' are secure pages not visible over the internet & hosted
within the NHS N3 private network in the UK.
What I'm looking for is other areas within XP that might affect access e.g.
I checked the hosts file on a PC that was working OK & compared with a
non-working one was missing an entry for the local machine ie 127.0.0.1
localhost. But updating that on the non working one had no effect.
I've scanned for malware etc & root kits just in case, but all is clean.
I think in the end this will be something small & buried away somewhere &
I'll be gob-smacked when I find out what is.
many thanks for your post though - that site is a useful aid for newbies &
for reminding oldies to check the basics.
