Newspaper Style Column Report ???

L

Larry H.

Hi,

I have Access 2000 and have a table that has names,
addresses & phone numbers in it.

I would like to print a report consisting of 3 columns
that would list the DETAIL data from these fields in a
newspaper-like column format, i.e. starting at the upper
LEFT down to the bottom, then up to the MIDDLE column at
the top, down the page and then lastly back to the TOP
RIGHT and continue down the page until full.

This could possibly house approximately 18 detail records
or so on ONE page.

Can I do this? If so, please share the information with
me.

Thanks,
Larry H.

try using the Report wizard, selecting Label Wizard. follow the wizard, and
just choose a standard 3-column label setup (i picked an Avery setup), so
the page width and column spacing will be evenly set up for you. don't worry
about the default height, you can easily change it in design view.
after completing the wizard, size the report *vertically* in design view for
how much space you want between each name-address-phone group.
then click File, Page Setup, Columns tab. look for Custom Layout near the
bottom of the dialog box, and select Down, Then Across.

if you need to have a "full page across" header and/or footer, then create
an unbound report and set up the header/footer the way you need it. put the
Labels report in the Detail section as a subreport.
