newsgroups

I have a new computer and Outlook is default email service. On my previous
computer, I could access thousands of newsgroups on just about any topic -
now I can access only newsgroups with 'microsoft' header.
Can anyone tell me how to find other topics, particularly health/medical
groups.

You need to find the news server you were using previously and configure OE
to connect to that.

You have to create an NNTP account that references an NNTP server containing
those other groups. I'd say you have only a single account defined right
now, and it references msnews.microsoft.com. Your ISP may provide an NNTP
server to which you can connect. It appears that your ISP is Road Runner
out of Austin, Texas, so your NNTP server should be news-server.gt.rr.com.

By the way, you should never use your real mail address when setting up a
news account in a newsreader, unless you LIKE spam and viruses. Expect to
see a lot of 419 scam mail. http://www.snopes.com/crime/fraud/nigeria.asp
