I recently upgraded to Outlook 2003 which I use as my mail program

When I tried to set up news I followed instructions to get news onto the GO
menu which I did successfully. Later when launching news I responded
positively to the box which asked whether I wanted to make Outlook my
default news client. Since then I have lost news on the GO menu and have to
load Outlook Express to work in newsgroups. Any suggestions?

I am not sure what you did originally but Outlook has no newsgroup
capability, Outlook Express is an alternative that does include news groups.

To get the News command back, open IE and click Tools>Internet
Options>Programs. In the "Newsgroups" drop-down, select Outlook Express.
Click OK. Start Outlook Express. If it asks if you want to make it the
default mail and news client, select "Don't ask me again" and click No.
