when i exchanged NETPassport for hotmail it put in
another version of msn messenger. i was 4.7 now it's 5.0.
it kind of messed up ol-express. both messengers are in
tool bar. you go to ol-express it wants the older version
messenger. i'm having to sign in & out between the two
depending on what i want to run. i like the new advances
5.0 has & would like to have that the only one. do i need
a different browser,option settings,or just what?? i'm
pretty new at this so bare with me. hope this made some
since to someone..

Greetings Pat,

What you need to do is disable Windows Messenger 4.7. You can start by opening up Windows
Messenger 4.7, click Tools, Options, Preferences tab and unchecking 'Run this program when
Windows starts'. Then you'll need to disable Outlook Express loading the old version, to do
so, close Outlook Express, then download and run this .reg file:
http://messenger.jonathankay.com/downloads/stopmessenger_oe.reg

Then you can restart Outlook Express, and Windows Messenger 4.7 will no longer load
(unfortunately MSN Messenger 5 will not integrate into Outlook Express on Windows XP).
