Hi

Having just recovered from a crash, I've lost the Outlook express
account that I used to access this group and can't remember what it was
(although I think it was education based). Can anyone please recommend
a good free news server that I can use to set up an account again?

I think this will help as I had the same situation.
I use the web based news server aioe.cjb.net
I cant remember the url to it but I googled for "free usenet" and came
up with a site that listed many of them, I just tried them till I found
one that worked for me.

Used your Google to find a site
http://freenews.maxbaud.net/newspage.html and recognised
dp-news.maxwell.syr.edu which seemed to have done a good job
previously. Now back in business.
