I had various MS newsgroups in the left column of my MAIL window until I
reformatted and lost them. I had saved the Newsgroup address as a text file
and when I tried to use it, the ONLY group I could bring up was
Mirrosoft.Test

How can I get the MS newsgroups back in my MAIL window?

Thanks

Bently

What is standard here... reply at top or bottom of post?

Thanks for reply Gunilla,

No, no outlook express, using Mozilla because I had so much trouble with
MALWARE using MSIE. (30 or 40 tracking cookies after about 20 minutes
online with MSIE,)

I had the newsgroup in Mozilla before format , addresses I had saved for
the newsgroup no good now???

Although bottom posting has long been a usenet standard, there are many who
feel that top posting is better and follow their own inclinations. So there
is no standard here. Personally, I prefer inline posting and generally use
it.

Thanks Ken, I'll bottom post.

You're welcome. The one thing I *would* caution you on, especially if you
bottom-post, is to be careful to trim extraneous material from the quotes.
Nobody wants to scroll through long complete summaries of the thread just to
get to your comment at the bottom, and many of us won't take the time to do
it, so an over-quoted message often won't get read.

Quote just enough to put your reply into context and make it understandable.

When you say Mozilla you don't mean Netscape flavour? I use Netscape®
Communicator 4.8 (very very very old!!!) not for any other reasons but
to have a plain text file that can be edited easily off-line!!

If you are using Netscape then I can give you the instructions to
configure it. There is no pint in giving you now because I think there
are hardly any who use it to bore them!!!

Regards,

Hi bently.

Yes, as you saw by the reply by Ken Blake there is no standard but some will
be nagging on you for top-posting. I use the way I feel is appropriate and
that is why I am going in-line this time.
Thanks for reply Gunilla,

You are welcome! :-) Sorry though that my answer didn't have a solution for
you but I see you are in good hands by the others and especially Anonymous.

I have XP Pro SP2 and IE with WinPatrol, Spywareblaster, Spybot S&D and have
at the most one or two tracking cookies after running for almost the whole
day. I have learned to put them into IE's restricted sites and also into
WinPatrol, I am pretty satisfied these days with the protection I have. :-)

Take care and regards...Gunilla.
