Can someone tell me how WinXp stores the newsgroup files used by Outlook
express? Under WinME a newsgroup like rec.arts.movies became
rec.arts.movies.dbx. Since I've changed to XP, I've read several newsgroups,
yet a file search shows no trace of them on my harddrive. Is there a new
extension other than .dbx?
TIA.

Hi

They are still .DBX files. Tools>Options>Maintenance - click on the 'Store Folder...' button - make sure that you don't alter anything - make a note of that folder then navigate to it in Windows Explorer. You'll find all the OE files there.

Make sure you have folder options/view set to show hidden and system files
as well in order to see them.

Didn't select use Outlook Express plug-in.
That's what happens when you change motherboard, harddrive and OS all at
the same time. Sorry to have inconvenienced anyone. Will make greater effort
to solve my own problems before appealing to netizens in future.
Mea culpa.
