'News' not showing in 'go' or 'commands'

The 'News' command disappeared from my 'Go' menu and does not appear in the
list of commands for the 'Go' toolbar when I go to
Tools>Customize>Commands>'go'

People are saying to go to Control Panle->Internet Options->Programs tab and
change the Newsgroups program to be Outlook Express.

Internet Options can also be accessed via Internet Explorer->Tools->Internet

There's a little more to it than that. Strange as it sounds, you must also
_disable_ OE as the default newsreader from within OE itself.

Had tried that too.

I finally had to re install MS Office ----- START>CTRL PANEL>ADD OR
REMOVE>MS OFFICE>CHANGE>REINSTALL

Then go to internet explorer to select OE as newsgroup reader. ---- Right
Click IE>PROGRAMS>Choose OE for Newsgroups

Then VOIILA - the News was back in my commands menu.---- Launch MS
Outlook>CUSTOMIZE>COMMANDS>GO>NEWS

This worked for me.

There's a little more to it than that. Strange as it sounds, you must also
_disable_ OE as the default newsreader from within OE itself.

Interesting. Thank you for not including those details in any of your posts.
You are the only one so far that I've seen for whom reinstalling Office was
a necessary component.
I'll consider this anecdote for now.
