Thanks Russ
Had tried that too.
I finally had to re install MS Office ----- START>CTRL PANEL>ADD OR
REMOVE>MS OFFICE>CHANGE>REINSTALL
Then go to internet explorer to select OE as newsgroup reader. ---- Right
Click IE>PROGRAMS>Choose OE for Newsgroups
Then VOIILA - the News was back in my commands menu.---- Launch MS
Outlook>CUSTOMIZE>COMMANDS>GO>NEWS
This worked for me.

There's a little more to it than that. Strange as it sounds, you must
also
_disable_ OE as the default newsreader from within OE itself.

Thanks,
I have tried this but still no 'news'.
:
People are saying to go to Control Panle->Internet Options->Programs
tab
and
change the Newsgroups program to be Outlook Express.
Internet Options can also be accessed via Internet
Explorer->Tools->Internet
Options
:
The 'News' command disappeared from my 'Go' menu and does not appear
in
the
list of commands for the 'Go' toolbar when I go to
Tools>Customize>Commands>'go'
