And, though its hard to tell from the post, if its "self installed" (not
Dell OEM), they don't support software you didn't purchase from them.

Hi
Dell did pull all Vista\XP Pro 32\64 bit drivers that was there a few days
ago
if your PC did not come with it installed
and Dell does not install 64 bit on any Home users computers I have 3 Dell
computers and all of them had Vista , XP Pro 64 bit drivers for them and all
were pulled !
My Dimension 8400 had Vista 32\64 and XP Pro 64 bit drivers they were all
pulled
for it!
The other 2 are still under warrenty so that does not have any thing to do
with it
Dell just pulled the 64 bit drivers .
All of my PC,s have Vista 32\64 bit on them and they run just fine
the D 8400 has Ultimate 64 and XP Pro 64 bit on it !
Not just my PC,s all computers that had the Vista 64\XP Pro 64 bit drivers
were pulled.
Dell just made a [bad move] by removing the drivers that were there.
We can only hope that Dell will put them back !
I never use Dells support anyway it is worthless !!
Maybe to many winee people wanting Dell to give them the 64 bit version of
the OS
who knows but Dell !!
Just my input.

Right, I see that.
But does Dell sell systems with x64 OS's ?
I think they are pulling drivers for "unsupported by Dell" OS's....as people
are self installing x64 OS's, then calling Dell with issues.

Hi
Dell does sell some work stations with windows XP Pro 64but not for home
users that i can find !
Yes some people do install Vista 64 bit now if thay go to support for help i
would not know that .
And Dell did start putting some of the Vista 64 bit drivers back late today
but not for my PC,s it may be soon thou.
Hay i was smart and saved all of the Vista 32\64 & XP Pro 64 bit drivers i
need !
At one point Dell said if there was a 64 bit drivers it would be posted for
downloads for any PC even if it was a Retail version install but no support !
Some people just does not understand what no support means ! LOL
See Yea

That actually isn't relevant -- Dell's logo agreement with Microsoft
requires 64bit drivers (at least if you trust the complaint website,
and/or the Microsoft website regarding logo certification programs)

Hmmm. I wonder what Dell's stance on that is?
