I used to do this with my fullversion of Music Match, but this is gone with
the new version....

Try the dbPowerAmp Music Converter, available from
http://www.dbpoweramp.com/dmc.htm .

One thing that should be mentioned is that if you can get the files as
MP3 in the first place, the sound quality will be much better than if
you download a WMA and then convert it to MP3.

but I have DL some EXCELLENT music via FTP that I'd like to convert...

I know...sometimes, it's just not possible to get it as MP3...I'm just
saying that if you have a choice, to go for MP3 as opposed to going
for WMA and then converting it to MP3.
