Hey... I need some help with using newsgroups

I want to access a group called "alt.fan.pratchett", and
whenever I try, it prompts me for a NNTP server. I looked
at the microsoft help page, and entered
msnews.microsoft.com, and that didn't help. What should I
do? what's the best way to get to alt.fan.pratchett???

any help is greatly appreciated.

The MS News Servers won't carry an NG like that - doesn't your ISP supply a News Server? If not you could try here:

The Microsoft server, msnews.microsoft.com, carries only
Microsoft newsgroups. To get to others, you need to use an
appropriate usenet server. Ask your ISP, who probably provides
one, and can give you information about how to set this up.
