I want to develop an application with Visual Basic 6.0 that uses a centrally
located database. I want all the clients to share this database and update
it and so forth. My database is a fairly small one and I will not be doing
anything too demanding with it. Can I use Access as the database used by my
VB 6.0 clients? The server with Access will be running probably Windows XP
and the clients will be running Windows 98 for some and Windows 2000 for
others. There will be a standard network linking all the clients to the
server.

Thank you

Depending on the network, it should work.

Access tends to be very sensitive to network problems. If it's a slow LAN
and/or any of the network cards are flaky, you could run into problems. I
wouldn't recommend it over a WAN, by the way.
