Newbie Question: CDR drives

Nick Danger

Hi all,

I need a way that I can query the system and determine if it has a
CDR/CDRW drive and then burn information to that disk. I have looked
in a number of books and on MSDN but I cannot find what I am looking
for. Can someone please help me out?

Thanks!

I believe there is a way to use Windows Media Player or Real Player to burn
CDRs
CDRW formats are proprietary. Forget about them.

If you use Windows XP, you can use IMAPI for burning CDs:

Notice that this is not a "job" for VB .NET.
