Newbie: How to stop message pane scrolling with preview pane

Ricky

If I scroll through an html preview it also scrolls the message pane, if I
scroll through a preview pane of a text message the message pane does not
scroll. How do I set up so that scrolling in the preview pane does not
scroll the message pane?

Thanks for you help.

What version of Outlook?

Does it help when you first click in the pane you are actually trying to
scroll?

Are you talking about using the mouse scroll wheel? Only one pane
should scroll when you click and/or drag the scrollbar in that pane. If
your mouse scroll wheel is scrolling more than one window than it is a
fault of your mouse driver. Check if you can select Universal scroll
mode or Office scroll mode to see if one works better than the other.
Or see if changing focus to the pane that you only want to scroll by
clicking the mouse in that pane and then scrolling then works.

it's the mouse drive - reverse the office 97 mode selection in the mouse
properties dialog.
