Newbie: How do I set drive mappings etc to be the same for everyone?

Hi,

My office has a domain with a primary controller, a secondary
controller and about 20 workstations. AD is enabled on both DCs.
Currently, when someone logs on from a workstation other than their
own, drive mappings, printers, etc have to be reestablished.
How can I set things up so that anyone can log on from anywhere and
get printers and drive mappings automatically?

TIA

Use login scripts and roaming profiles.

Ok, that is a start.
Can you give me a hint on how to accomplish either or both?
Where can I learn the syntax for login scripts?
Are they executed at the WS or at the server?

Thanks very much.

Login scripts can be simple batch files that map drives:

So, I would place such a batch file in the startup group on each WS?
To be honest, if you're going to be running this shop I'd pick up a coupla
basic AD/W2k books on this before playing with anything....too much can go
wrong.

Good point. Thanks.

Not in the startup group - in the sysvol
share....\\servername\sysvoldomain.com\scripts.

Then you have a coupla choices - either specify the batch file by name (no
path) in each users ADUC properties, or apply it with a policy.

Get the books out first! Madness lies down this road.... :)
