[newbie] direct parallel

I am trying to cut down my run time image so that it is as small as possible
but still do what I want.

At the moment I am thinking of removing the "direct parallel" component but
can't seem to find any documentation it - what is it exactly?

Something related to networking trough parallel port. (Also it look that some resources missing in this component)
Removing this component won't give you any free space. But you should try removing components that its depend on, and also to see
who included this component in first place.

RAS (Dial-Up networking) stuff.
The component brings related primitives as dependencies. It also sets up a couple of services (through resources).
