I may be asking a little early, but my computer is a S--y. My WinXP Home
Edition is loaded from their CD. It is not a WinXP CD with a serial number.
I cannot get a direct answer from the computer manufacturer. When the new
addition of WinXP comes on the market, how will I load it into my PC, or am
I just outta luck?

There's no more editions of XP coming out. There are service packs which
you'll be able to load from CD or from the update site. When a new version
of Windows comes out - Vista is it's name-o - then you can upgrade to that
if you wish.

Did you want to recover the key?

Why would you want to rush out and buy the latest version of win, Vista I
believe, when it is eventually released?
What's the point?
Is it going to give you something you haven't got?
Will your hardware be able to utilise anything thats new on this version?

Bob;
Assuming you are referring to Windows Vista expected near the end of this
year...
You would install it on your computer just as you would any other computer,
there is no difference.

Upgrading to Vista is not anything you need to do unless you have specific
needs that will require something in Vista not in other OSs.

Windows XP should be fine for several years to come.

Thanks for the input folks. After reading about it, I have no need for it.
By the time an all new windows comes out, I'll be ready for a new 'puter
anyway.
