New Windows Update Software Required

I get "New Windows Update Software Required" every after clicking "Update
Now" under "To update your version of the software and begin using Windows
Update, click Update Now".

I deleted the files in my temporary Internet cache, following the
instructions below:
1. Closed the Internet Explorer.
2. Right-clicked the Internet Explorer icon.
2. Clicked "Properties."
3. On the General tab, clicked "Delete Files." This didn't help.
Then
1. Closed Internet Explorer.
2. Deleted IUCtl.dll and the IUEngine.dll from both the system32\dllcache
and system32 folders.
3. Deleted the registry string value “SelfupdateStatus” present in the
HKLM\Software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\windowsupdate\IUcontrol key.
iuenginenew.dll didn't exist. Then the software updated. I scanned and got
"An error occurred while scanning for driver updates. We are not able to
display any updated drivers for your system."
When I got to Windows Update again I got "New Windows Update Software
Required" again.

"New Windows Update Software Required" stopped appearing after reinstalling
SP1, but I still get "An error occurred while scanning for driver updates.
We are not able to display any updated drivers for your system."
