XP pro seems to have done this by itself or along with one
of the Microsoft security patches. There have been a
number, and I don't know exactly when this issue started -
mabye within the past week or so.
When I use Outlook Express and click a mail message, the
new message opens behind the main OE message summary
window. I have to minimize the main OE window to see the
message. Just clicking the message in the task bar will
not bring the window to the front. The window "blooms" but
the content of the display doesn't change.
About the same thing happens when I launch Internet
Explorer first and then some other application - Quicken
or MS Word for example. IE 6 seems to dominate, and I have
to minimize IE in order to see the other windows. However,
I can navigate normally between the other applications by
clicking them in the task bar. Clicking them in the task
bar will bring that window to the front.
Any idea how to fix the problem short of nuking and
starting over (which I don't want to do)?
