I have only had a little bit of programming experience. Is it easy to use Front Page to create a Web page? I have been using Microsoft Publisher recently.

You don't need any programming experience to create a web site with FP.

Yes, it's fairly easy. There are, however, three
complicating factors.

o Web sites consist of dozens, hundreds, or thousands of
separate files. FrontPage tries to make this easy for
you by treating all these files as a single FrontPage
"Web site". Sometimes, however, and particularly when
copying the entire site from place to place, it's
easy to forget some files and then something won't
work right.

o Your "live" Web site will usually reside on a server
that someone else controls. This can make it difficult
to figure out why something isn't working the way you
expect.

o The people viewing your "live" site will use a variety
of computer types, operating systems, browsers, and
video systems. As a result, your site won't look the
same to everyone, and if you aren't careful, it will
look terrible or broken in at least some cases. This
much different than creating documents for print,
where you typically know the exact paper size and type
of printer.

Please note that these issues stem form the nature of the
World Wide Web, and not from any oversight in FrontPage.
You'll encounter the same issues no matter which Web site
editor you use.

Everything is "relative"!
In my opinion, out of all the professional quality editors
FrontPage is by far the easiest to learn for beginners.
Particularly if you are familiar with Microsoft Office
products. As you learn, FrontPage has many and/or superior
features found in higher priced software.

It is as easy to create a web page with FrontPage as it is to write a
program with Visual Studio.Net. It has many productivity tools to speed up
your development. However, it is not a substitute for knowing HTML and the
Internet, any more than Visual Studio is a substitute for knowing a
programming language.
