New user profile and IE 7 opening problem

I work in an elementary school computer lab. I have set up a new profile on
the students computer and was entering it for the first time. The IE 7
settings first run window came up. I selected the settings I wanted and click
continue to my homepage and it froze up for some reason. I waited 1 hour and
it was still froze up so I logged off that user and rebooted the computer.
Now in that user it freezes up evertime I open IE 7. But, on the same
computer under the other user, it opens and works fine. I tried uninstalling
it and reinstalling it under the troubled user but it still freezes when
opening. I am baffled. Thank you for your help!
