New user created in XP Home

Just tidying the PC up before SP2 arrives, and I noticed
that my PC has started asking me who I want to log on as
(with a choice of one use - Me!).
Nipped into the user admin screen and noticed that as well
as Me and Guest (switched off) there was a new user called
somethng like "ASP.Net Machine 1......."
My naming convention doesn't run to anything like that,
and I am concerned that a new user can be created out of
thin air (or should that be e-air).
I have deleted the offending user and re-boot seems OK now.

Can anyone shed a little light on this squatter I seem to
have inherited?

Thanks in advance.....

This is normal, and is part of the installation of the .NET Framework.

that 'squatter' was created by the .net framework installation and is
required for some functions of it to work... i think only if you run a web
server that serves asp pages but i'm not sure on that.

Thanks Doug.

As I don't (knowingly) use the .Net framework, am I safe
to discard this user - a bit late now, but I thought I'd
ask!

Cheers......
