New user can't print

I have a PC running XP Pro, with a user (Administrator level) which has 4
networked printers configured. No problems, user prints to all printers.

I have added another user (limited level) tothis PC. The new user can print
to two printers quite happilly (these are new printers - a Canon and an HP
with built-in E'Net function). The other two printers are older HP1200 series
with external print servers (model HP 175x) attached to each one. The new
user cannot print to these two printers.

Why not?

Check the printer GPOs and the new user rights on the network. The limited
level is a clue.

Age of the printers is not an issue.

First think the worst then find ways around it.

GPOs? What do you mean by this? Other users can print just fine, and if I log
in again as the Administrator on this PC, I can print just fine.

User rights? No problem printing to the other network printers, when logged
in as the new user, so why would user rights affect just these two devices.
How do I check?

I mentioned the age and type of network interface as I have heard some older
style print servers aren't true print servers, and they need setting up
differently (set up printer as local rather than networked printer for
example). I haven't been able to find out if this applies to the HP 175x. The
newer Canon and HP1320 have p/server built-in.

Cheers

You are using a peer to peer networking solution. If the new user cannot
print to the older printers it is not because of the age of them, you have
others using them. It has to do with the access right to them. You need to
check the shares of those printers and make sure the new user can access
them.
If from the new user account you can see the rpinters and get an access
denied, you have to fix their access through the share rights.
If the new user sees and accesses the printer with no error message and no
print comes out, check the printers spoolers settings.

Sorry I was late in answering, I was busy...

Thanks
I solved the problem by logging on with an Administrator ID, deleting the
printer, and reinstalling. The other user was then able to access them.

Thnaks for your help.
