new update wiped out my modem

I downloaded the new security updates for windows and when
I reboot my computer no longer sees the modem. I need to
disable the modem, restart the computer, and then enable it
to get it to work.

Does anyone know any solutions to this?

I don't know what is worse. Maybe it is better to have
someone be able to get on your system. Without the
security updates at least it worked.

Have you checked for updated modem drivers?
