Don't know if anyone would be interested, but eBuyer got a Philips 28" widescreen TV on special offer, with free delivery... at £299 its £100 cheaper than comet...

We bought one, and it arrived as scheduled at 10am this morning via initial city link

We paid £14 to have it delivered this side of christmas, but super saver delivery is free...

Philips 28" 28PW6518C Real Flat Widescreen TV Inc Cabinet
Features

  • 28"(66cm) Screen Size
  • Virtual Dolby Surround Sound
  • Fastext
  • 2 Scart Sockets
  • RGB via Scart socket
  • Front AV Input
  • S-VHS Socket
  • On Screen Menu
  • Auto Set Up
  • Headphone Socket
  • 16:9 Widescreen format
  • Pure Flat Screen
  • Stand Included
Sure, it's not the best 28" TV for sale by any stretch of the imagination, but its good for the money. My parents were extremely sceptical about getting a widescreen TV, so there was no way they were gonna spend ANY more than £300, so i thought this would be a good choice.

The sound quality is amazing :p

The sound is AMAZING i love it...the Virtual Dolby with 8x 20w speakers really does make it sound like theres an expensive seperate sound system involved... tested it out with some "Rush In Rio" DVD... VERY good Bass too!

KGB, Same model number?

Its a good TV... It's probably on offer because maybe the model is being replaced... Who cares, at that price it IS a good TV and it IS a bargain!

I can reccomend it to anyone looking to spend this amount on a TV, obviously £60 or £100 more would probably get you one a fair bit better e.g. 100hz but hey... its still good
