Hello. I am looking to add ms word and excel to XP Home. The word processor and spreadsheet are just not comforable. I am used to office 97. Is there somewhere that these can be downloaded? Thank you in advance.

Word, Excel are part of Office. If you wish to have an older version of
Office (97) instead of XP/03, then search online retailers and/or e-bay.

Windows XP is an "operating system". Unless you specifically ordered, and paid for,
Microsoft Office, it is not installed on your new computer by the computer vendor.
You'll need to purchase and install Microsoft Office.

What's in the Office Editions?

I realize XP is the operating system, and that I need office, which was not purchased at the original time of sale. Was just wondering if Office 97 was still out there. Thank

Office 97 is compatible with Windows XP, but like all
Microsoft Office programs, you have to purchase it.
That's why Office 2003 would be the best choice.
