Neither have I. Just as I was going to download it, I noticed that the

Does mcafeeSiteadvisor redtag
http://groups.google.dk/group/alt.comp.freeware?hl=da sometimes there are
links in that group to software that some people consider adware, spyware
or other unwanted programs.

Then you are missing a good clean program. I just installed & tested it as
well as scanning for spyware with Spybot S & D and Ad-Aware se. Program is
quick w/o spyware. No attempts to phone home as well.

It's listed at Snapfiles:

and I suggest you read the second review before using it.

It's a nice little program, considering it's version 1.0--I hope they
fix that problem in the next version.

I would point out that even with the bugs, I don't think it could
corrupt data by itself. On Windows NT 4.0, 2000, XP, and later
operating systems the actual moving of files by any defragmentation
program, be it the one that comes with Windows or one by a third party,
is done by calling an internal Microsoft API that is supposed to
guarantee that no data corruption ever occurs, no matter how buggy the
application is. All this program seems to do is call that API, and it's
a clever way of promoting the company's other products. I doubt it is
any more efficient or faster than similar programs because the real
work is in the API.

More info can be found here: (Someday I might try my hand at a defrag
app...)

John - I don't see a second review. All I see is:

Click the link that says "...based on 2 user opinions."

POKO,
I probably would have been simpler for me to include the review in my
reply, so here it is:

_______________________________________________
This program caused some problems quote

* Interface: 5
* Features: 1
* Ease of use: 4
* Value: 1
* Overall: 2

This program caused some problems with run-time files during defrag. On
three different defrags, programs using vb6 runtime files and .net
framework all crashed out. It must be this program because these errors
occur only during defragmenting using this program.

Installed and used it
No call homes
No problems
No crashes

But ....

Any faster at defraggin than Diskeeper or MS Windows (built in) and any
noticable difference in accessing programs or data (eg loading a
spreadsheet)?

Ian.
