New to Emdebbed

Hello,

I am new to the Embedded XP technology. I am wanting to explore Microsoft
Windows Embedded Studio for purposes of creating images with the SMS Advance
Client. I have installed a eval copy of the product but it is asking for a
component database server. Could someone tell me how to set this up?

Just follow the main installation page.
Few things need to be installed separately.

Jed,

When you insert the CD into the Drive, it will display a list of " to
do's". 1st is the update of the Windows Installer (only if you are running
Win2K on your dev system), second is the tools setup, which installs TD and
CD. Then it has the option for Database Engine Setup. This will install MSDE
(SQL Desktop Engine) once that process is complete, there is a Database
setup option... this installs the physical compoent database on the MSDE
engine.
