Does the term "Final Version"
indicate that there won't be any further ones?

Most likely not.... I think the FINAL stands for.... final 1.3 release.... I
think they may now or in the future) begin on 1.4, but not in the extreme
near future... I like the final release version right now.... It seems just
a touch slower, but not much

Thanks for the heads-up.
I dl'd and ran it.
Only one new find (concerning usage tracks), but that's good news.

Is it worthwhile fooling with? Any major differences between it and the
previous version? Other than version #?

Hmm, started to give you a positive answer.....but tried to open it and it
froze and I had 'parameter errors'. Not unusual for me......with that
program. Not usual for others....grin.

I have uninstalled it and will try again.....but the consensus so far on the
MS ng's is that it is finding ones that it didn't find before.

Be back atcha......Heather

OK......reinstalled it. Seems to be working fine. Touch wood. There is a
lot of stuff added and I am just going thru it again. Someone mentioned
'blocking of a webpage'......I see there is an icon by the clock that is the
IE Resident Blocking or some such.....that is probably what caused the
blocking.

In essence, I will have to play with this some more in order to tell you,
but in default (simple) mode, it found nothing re spyware cookies.....I now
have it running in Advanced mode and I will check it before I send this. I
sometimes have it do system internals.....haven't found that one so far.

I see it is checking 13,734 items.....the IE Resident icon says it
blacklists 1161 processes. OK.....no spyware in Advanced either. I see on
the Immunize page that it has 'bad IE webpages blocked'......that is new to
my knowledge. You can choose to use that via the toolbar icon.

Hope I didn't ramble on too much, grin......just reporting as I went along.

Cheers......Heather

I, or course, am no expert like many other the regulars here, but, I did got
it earlier today from the Major Geeks link Siljaline posted in the alt.
privacy.spyware ng. I ran it and it found a couple of critters. But, it is
in many regards better than the older version. I like the new things, as
Heather noted, there are some new goodies. I have not experienced any
problems with it at all, I did uninstall the old version and installed
new. I'd actually advise that to anyone who decides to go to the new
version. FWIW..I like it...and intend on keeping it. Although, I did keep
the copy of the old version original zip download just in case. ;-)

I just downloaded it yesterday. When I tried to install it I noticed two
options regarding protection that you can checkmark. I didn't know what
they were so I cancel the install. Can someone explain those options to me?
Thx.

I was looking for an explanation of them........Teatimer was one if I recall
correctly and I removed it. Net Integration Forum will have information or
Kolla's home page......

I had a problem installing it at first, so make sure you follow the
uninstall directions, which I can post if you want. Reinstalled from the
same download and it works just fine.....much faster loading as well.

Lordy, I am getting senile, grin!! I can't remember what it was doing, but
something I didn't want it to do. Took it out of the tray and unchecked it
in Startup......stubborn thing. Now I will have to read it again and see
why I took it off.....

OK.....found the two. SD Helper *blocks IE bad downloads*. Teatimer is
*protection of over-all system settings*. I have Teatimer turned off. That
must be the two the OP was talking about. Found them under Tools and click
on the icon for "resident".

Cheers.....Heather

I just got it and it works great :)

Big deal! What would have been better is if there had been new updates
since March. Neither the old or new version ain't up to speed with the
old update.

If you are running the final build and the Display availble Beta versions
is activated....
