new section after endnotes on same page

I am trying to make a booklet composed of multiple sections. One section in
the middle contains endnotes. I need to start a new section after the
endnotes but on the same page, because I need to use all available space.
However, when I suppress endnotes, it makes a default page break and starts
me on a new page.
I tried using footnotes rather than endnotes, but then the references were
no longer at the end of the section. Any suggestions?

Okay, I managed to make this happen but I definitely had to mess around with
it a little bit.

What you want:

Section X, followed by endnotes, followed by Continuous Section Break.

You need to set the endnotes to "end of section", but you do *not* want to
suppress endnotes.

Order of creation: I'm guessing here, as this is the part I had to mess
around with. Type the text for section X, with the notes, then set notes to
"end of section," then insert the continuous section break *directly after
the text of section X*, not after the notes.

Note: Please switch into View Normal for this, temporarily. Life is far
easier if you can see the section breaks and aren't trying to type in
"endnote space," and if you use Normal View, you don't have to think about
such things, as Word will automatically show the first and automatically
hide the second.

If you have problems, state your version of Word when posting back.
