new router only works using DHCP ?

Hi,

Added a new router and only works using DHCP but I need fixed IP.

Network setup like this:

WAN IP
Router 1
192.168.0.1
v
v
192.168.0.50
Router 2
192.168.2.1

Router 2 is replaced with router 3. I tried entering 192.168.0.50 (+ correct
subnet) to router 3 WAN adapter but i cannot get it working. When using DHCP
to allocate the WAN IP for router 3 it works. Router 2 works with fixed IP
192.168.0.50.

the default static route is on the router 3 the same as router 3. Im getting
lights displayed traffic.

Is it possible that it is something to do with the mac address ? ie i can
add the mac address to the ISP cable modem list.

Thanks
Scott.

No, you don't need to register the MAC address. Blueyonder only require the
MAC address of the device connected to the cable modem to be registered.

Why do you actually want two routers connected in that configuration? If
you want to do that you should make sure that router 1 only allocates IP
addresses in a specific range, let's say 192.168.0.2 - 192.168.0.50 and you
can the set router 3 to allocate IP address in the range 192.168.0.51 -
192.168.0.100 You should be able to leave router 3 to get a dynamic IP from
the first router or give it a fixed IP addres if you want. That should do
it but it's not necessary to have the second router, as I mentioned
earlier.

Bill
