new printer, rpc error

i tried to install it with manufactures cd, after it ran with that , windows
popped up and said u have and rpc error and that your new hardware possible
wont work properly. Windows is saying it sees new hardware but in the device
manager its not there. thanks for the help ahead of time
 
RPC=Remote Procedure Call
Go to: Start>Run>type SERVICES.MSC and press OK
Scroll down to Remote Procedure Call (RPC) and under Status see if
it has started. If not, highlight it and to the left you can click Start.
