I intend to build a new PC and break up my old one. Can I install my copy of
XP and Office Pro on the new machine?

Depends on what type of copies they were... OEM or retail?

If the Operating System came pre-installed on the old system or you
purchased it at a lower price without a nice box/etc - it is likely an OEM
copy and thus - tied to the first machine it is installed upon by the End
User Licensing Agreement. It is non-transferrable in every manner.

Are these OEM or Retail versions? Office Pro 2007 or earlier?

Hope this helps.

If they are retail copies, yes. If OEM, no.

OEM copies are permanently tied to the first computer they are
installed on. It's the biggest disadvantage of an OEM copy, and one of
the main reasons it's cheaper than a retail one.
