New outlook data file to old outlook app

My machine died, but I have access to a backup of my Outlook.pst. The
machine I'm using temporarily has an older version of Outlook (2002) which
tells me my file is not compatible with the version of Personal Folders
Information Service.

Is there any way to import the data? Update Outlook?

Or do I have to purchase the newer version to use my file?

I'm pretty sure I know the answer, but thought it was worth asking.

Thank you.

Outlook 2002 can't read Outlook 2003/2007 PST files. You'd need to
upgrade to the newer version. If you have a new machine coming with
Outlook 2003/2007 on it within the next 60 days you could
download/install the trial version of Office 2007 from Microsoft.
(http://www.microsoft.com/office) and use that until your new machine
arrives with the new software on it.
