new motherboard and old memory

on my old motherboard i have 768MBytes of RAM which is of the pc2100 type, i
am looking at a motherboard which says

DDR400
DDR400 (PC3200), the latest and fastest DDR memory standard, supports
bandwidth up to 3.2GB/s to provide enhanced system performance.

but on the other part it says this:

3 x 184-pin DIMM Sockets support max. 3GB PC3200/PC2700/PC2100 Non-ECC DDR
SDRAM memory

does it mean it will support my memory which i no is ok

just wanna check before i buy it

It will support your old RAM just fine.

The info about the RAM is incorrect as far as PC3200 being the fasterst
memory out there. At one time, that was the case, but there is much faster
memory on the market today. It's in different standards tho (meaning DDR2
versus DDR ---> PC3200 is DDR.)

But yes, that board should be completely compatable with your current RAM.

PC2100 will work in your motherboard, but it only supports a bus speed of
133DDR(266).Newer CPU's are now using a 200DDR(400) bus speed so your shiny
new CPU will have to be underclocked by 25% to work.

Er, no, because on most non-Intel motherboards, the FSB and memory bus can
be run asynchronously.
