New message in inbox, not showing

All,

Office 2003, on Windows 2000.

This problem appears intermittently, and does not always appear to be
reproducable.

In Outlook, the inbox is selected (and empty).
When a new message arrives, the tree-list shows "Inbox (1)", the inbox shows
no emails, as if the message is invisible.
The message shows up after changing to a different folder, and back to the
Inbox.

There are no rules in place.

Anyone an idea?
Thx

Milly,

Thx for the answer.
But do you realy think this is an RPC problem? There are no appearant other
communication issues between Outlook 2003 and Exchange 2003.

Anyway, the suggested
"rpcdump /i"
in the article yields
"RpcMgmtEpEltInqNext:(Access is denied. )."

Now what should I do?

Wieger
