new message formating

In Outlook 2003 on a XP machine. When I wish to create a new line in a
message and press ENTER, it double spaces automaticly. I prefer a single
space. My MAIL FORMAT is set to HTML and not using Word.

Another question is where is the menu to set Outlook 2003 to automaticly
download messages from the ISP? As is, I have to press SEND/RECEIVE when
Outlook opens.
Thanks

Press ALT-CTRL-S. Set a send/receive interval.

The Shift-Enter works, but is there a permanent setting for that? I have
other Outlook 2003 instalations that are set to one line.

The Alt-Ctrl-S only produces a screen withe version number for HP computers.
Is there a menu process?

THANKS for your help.

You're not in Outlook, then, when you press it. Press the keys while
viewing your Inbox. Alternatively, click Tools>Send/Receive>Send/Receive
Settings>Define Send/Receive Groups. Check the box labeled "Perform an
automatic send/receive every" and supply a value no less than about ten
minutes.
