New Memory Problem...

I've got an Athlon 64 3000 Socket 754 with an MSI Neo Plat. It had 512Mb of
Corsair Value Select DDR400 and I just bought an identical stick from
NewEgg to bring me up to 1gig.

It went in just fine, but after a while I started to get lockups when doing
certain tasks (like every time I start Medal of Honor). If I remove the new
stick everything seems to be fine.

My question is, is this necessarily a bad stick or is it possible I need to
change timings (or other settings) in BIOS? I'm pretty sure all of my
memory settings are on Auto and I'm not overclocking in any way. I ran
Memtest for about 15 minutes and got no errors. How long should I run it?

BTW, I bought a new SeaSonic power supply at the same time I got the RAM,
but all seems to be fine with it.

Thanks all.

You should run Memtest for a few hours (i.e. overnight) just to be sure.
Are both RAM modules CAS 3.0 or 2.5? You should try setting
CAS 3 in the BIOS to see if that helps..

Both are CAS 2.5. I ram Memtest for 9+ hrs. and 24 passes with no errors. I
moved the new module to slot 3 and will try that for a while.

You have 2 sticks of ram, one old one new. with the old one in, it works,
with both it doesn't. I'd try with only the
new one, then if it locks up, you know the new one is
causing it.
