Can't be did - Need to open in Lotus and save down as a .wk4 file,
then open in Excel, or even save in Excel format from Lotus if you
are able to do so (Don't know if you can or not).

Any version of 123 that can produce .123 files can also produce Excel 8/97
..XLS files. For more recent .123 formats (Lotus made the same mistake as
Microsoft, changing the file format from supporting 8,192 rows per worksheet
to 65,536 rows while using the same file extension), saving as .XLS files is
the *ONLY* sensible way to go since it's necessary to avoid potential data
loss.
Now, FWIW, Quattro Pro versions 10 and later can open .123 files and save as
..XLS files (I've confirmed this myself), and DataViz's ConversionPlus claims
to be able to do this too (I have no first hand experience with recent -
last 8 years - versions of it).
If the OP knows people using 123, that's the best way to proceed. If the OP
knows people using QP10 or later, that's the best way to proceed. If the OP
knows no one with any of these products, and is forced to buy one of them,
then the cheaper of Corel WordPerfect Office 2002 or later version or
SmartSuite Millenium version 9.6 or later would be the best way to go.
