hi there,

i have just reinstalled xp w/sp2. somehow when i open IE, it takes a
while to open and load yahoo.com. i check the task manager, when the IE
opens, system uses up to 30% of the cpu. i try with firefox, it does
the same thing. i have tried to run adware, spyware and antivirus, get
rid of everything i can find, but still nothing changed. does any one
have clue what is the reason causing this? other programs run find,
only happens when i open web browsers. thanks.

Check your connection settings

Tools > Internet Options > Connections

eg "Always dial my default connection" etc , depending on how you connect to
the Internet

i have checked that, i didn't have any dial up connection set up. i am
using IE6, firefox 2.0.
