New installation fails?

I recently got my Windows Vista RC1 in the mail and decided to install it on
my new Vista Capable PC. When I go to install, I get a "Blue Screen of
Death". I recently got off the phone with the Dell guy and he told me I
should post here. Anyways, I tried an Upgrade, Clean Install, Boot from DVD,
and Install within Windows. He's going to send me an e-mail about what to do.
In the mean time, can anyone help?

What is the exact status of your hard drive right now? Has it been
formatted by some utility beside Vista? About how far into the install do
you get the BSOD?

Unplug any devices you don't need.

I have 202 GB free space out my 228 GB.
I just got this computer, so no, it hasn't been formatted by another utility.
If I install Within Windows, I get the BSoD when my computer restarts and
boots within the DVD.

I would suggest if you want to keep the computer workable that you not
install Vista. There are many warnings about not using it on your main
system

Your hard drive status is still unclear. Do you have XP installed on it?
Have you created a partition to install Vista? Are you going to dual boot?
Does Dell have a restore partition on the drive?

More information about exactly how you are trying to install would help.
Just pick how you want to install as far as dual boot or update, or a clean
install.
