install...I am installing it on a new drive and wiping my old drive...What
would be the best procedure for doing so ??Will I have to install other
motherboard drivers and such first or how do I go about it ??

If you're doing a clean install you can do it one of two ways: By simply
putting the DVD in and following the on-screen directions, or by restarting
your computer with the DVD in and having it boot from it. Either way provides
you with a menu that walks you through the rest of the way.

You do not need to format your hard drive before installing like older OS's
required. When it writes Vista onto your hard drive all of your old data will
be backed up and saved into a folder called "windows.old" that you can use to
revert back to Windows XP at any time.

Hopefully this answered your question, if not lemme know.

Sir...Since I will have 2 basically new drives unformatted,,
1/ Will Vista know to format them ??
2/ What settings do I need to accomplish prior to starting with dvd in the
drive ??
3/ How will I set up raid if there are no other drivers installed
previously as this will be pretty much like starting with a brand new
system
These are probably irritating questions but I want to make sure I do this
right and I greatly appreciate the help..........Thanks
again..............Drew

Yes. If there is a partition it will do a quick format and then install.
The Advanced Options tools available when you boot with the dvd will permit
you to create, delete, and format partitions should you need to do any of
this manually.

If you have no OS installed, the dvd will be the first bootable media on the
machine and will automatically boot it.

After Setup is started you can use the Load Drivers button to load your raid
drivers.
