New HD-msg NTLDR missing

Got new Seagate 80GB HD and during install of XP home
edition-reboot, the msg "NTLDR missing" is as far as it
will boot. Is there a fix?

Check if there's a floppy disk in the drive - I had one in the drive and
tried to reboot recently, and it said that. I thought I had corrupted XP,
but it turned out that it was fooled into thinking the floppy disk was a
boot disk, but of course it didn't have all the required files on it. Once I
took the disk out and tried rebooting again, it booted just fine.
