ntldr missing

i am trying to load xp pro onto a seagate barracuda
st380021a 80gb hd i have formated the disk to ntfs. but
when trying to install i get the message ntldr missing. i
have xp working on a 60gb which i think has some
spyware/adware on it. i want to have a clean install of
xp onto the new disk and to get rid of some old
programmes i no longer need.

your information and help will be most appreciated.

Bill, disconnect the 60g and replace with the 80. Then set the cdrom as
first boot device in the Bios.
and boot from the CD.
