new hardware recognition

I am fairly new to XP and have an irritating problem when
I switch on my printer. Although my printer is installed
and fully operational, when I switch it a window appears
saying that new hardware has een recognised and goes to
install wizard?? Why is this??

Do you follow the wizard and complete the 'phantom' installation. If not, it
will keep popping up. You could go to Device Manager and check the driver
out.
