"New Folder" command freezes

D

donovick

When I try to create a "New Folder" on the desktop, or in
Windows Explore, the computer freezes for 60 seconds.
After a minute, the context menu appears and works as
normal.

I have tried cleaning the registry and removing programs
form the "New" context menu.

Any suggestions?

Download and install Process Explorer for Windows XP:-
http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml
Run this program>view menu> click "View DLLs"

Click to highlight the explorer.exe process.

Check whether there is any third party modules attached to the Windows
Explorer process.

The related software from Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs
to see if the problem can be resolved.
