New error message keeps popping up.

Suddenly I am getting a window appearing
called "Miscellaneous Files - Microsoft
Script Editor [break] -
http://www.easycounter.com/counter.php [read
only].

In the body of the window there is:

"<html><head><script
src="res://mshtml.dll/objectembed_neutral.js"></script></head><body
objectSource="http://www.easycounter.com/counter.php?radefr"
onload="ObjectLoad();" leftmargin=0
topmargin=0 scroll=no> <form
id="objectDestination"></form>
</body></html>"

When I try to delete this I get a dialogue
box asking "do you want to continue
debugging?" and when I press "No I get
another window called "Just-in-time
Debugging" and in the body of this one is
"New Instant of Microsoft Script Editor."

It seems to want me to debug something.

Please help, Frank

Hi Frank

In Internet Explorer, go to the main Tools menu, then Internet Options,
and click on the Advanced tab.

Underneath the heading "Browsing" you should see two checkboxes for
"Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer)" and "Disable Script
Debugging (Other)". Put a tick in both boxes. Underneath there is an
option for "Display a notification about every script error". Make sure
that one is NOT ticked, then click OK and close the window.

Hopefully that will sort it out :) Let us know how you get on!

Thanks, I checked this and all the boxes were
ticked/unticked properly. I'll report back
when I get more data.

At the moment I'm in crisis because the
computer is emitting a vile burned smell and
there is a brown discoloration around a few
of the power-supply vent slots. I have to
buy a new PS quickly.

Regards, Frank

Thanks.
I'm back. New power supply tentatively
installed.

The error message still occurs, normally when
rebooting the computer, and it refers to:
"[960] C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe"

If there is a corrupt file should I replace
it with one from a recent backup? Which file
would this be?

By the way, I tend to use IE7 mainly, and
Firefox sometimes.

Regards, Frank.

Also, is there some rule to determine the
rating of a power supply? The burned-out one
is a "ThermalTake" 430W and I had it only
about 6Months. I have replaced it with the
same brand but with a 750W rating. I do a
lot of movie transcoding and burning, and the
Intel dual-core runs at 100% usage a great
deal of the time (no overclocking) , also I
am always downloading from the internet
simultaneously.

Regards, Frank

P.S. I have just installed a new
firewall/virus detector called "F-Secure" and
got rid of the old CA one. The F-Secure was
successful in finding a spambot (csrss.exe)
which was freezing up my internet connection.
Would this changeover cause the error message
above?
